Puerto Del Carmen is the busiest resort in Lanzarote. It started life as a small fishing village and has since grown to be a very popular tourist destination within Lanzarote. They are many reasons that Puerto Del Carmen has became so popular, some of these are due to the ever growing night life, restaurants and activities you can do while in Puerto Del Carmen. There are many places to stay in this resort, many people will book apartments in Puerto del Carmen with the owners of the apartments rather than going through a travel agent, this can sometimes save you money.

Puerto Del Carmen is split in to two sections, you have the 'Old Town' and the 'New Town'.

The Old Town

This area was what started Puerto Del Carmen off as a tourist resort. The old town is more popular with couple's and older people. It still has many pubs and clubs to visit along with restaurants but it's a slightly slower pace of life. In the middle of the old town is the harbour which is surrounded by fish restaurants and pubs. It gets very lively here at night and makes for a very good night out.

The New Town

The new part of Puerto Del Carmen is still being built up every day. Along nearly the whole of the main street you will find golden sandy beaches that are very well maintained. There is hundreds of shops to visit while walking along "the strip" with a lot of variety in each. In the centre of the new town you will come across 'Centro' which holds most of the more popular pubs and disco techs. On a night time this area is very popular with everyone.
